The structure of the EHN consists of:
- An Annual General Assembly Meeting gathering all Members
- An Executive Board (EB) with a Chairperson (see below all the members of the Board)

Secretariat (consists of three persons) to:
- Implement day-to-day management/invoice/accountancy
- Prepare all meetings
- Maintain and publish a register of members organizations
- Update the official website
The members meet at least once a year at the annual meeting during Spring.
Each member has one vote and all voting being by simple majority, unless otherwise stated.
The Board consists of a maximum of twelve persons representing members’ organisations. Members of the Board are elected, for a three-year renewable mandate, by all members on a rolling basis.
The Annual Meeting of all members will decide on:
- All governance issues related to EHN new members / member exclusion
- Adopt the annual financial statements
- Decide on the amount of the membership fee
- Discuss and approve the action plan and other activities
The Board is responsible to:
- Nominate a chairman out of the group of elected Board members.
- Produce and after decision at the annual meeting, implement and work with the action plan and prepare corresponding proposals.
- Inform all members after meetings by sending the minutes.
- Ensure the implementation of all activities.
The financial year begins at 1st January and ends at 31st December. All fees and financial activities will be administered by the Secretariat under the supervision of the Board.
